Ran

Ran served in the paratroopers unit and was severely injured in January of 2009 on the last day of Operation Cast Lead, two months before he was scheduled to be released from the army. He lost his left leg in an explosion, severely injured his right leg, and was wounded in almost every part of his body. Ran was released from Tel Hashomer hospital and goes for rehabilitation treatments, where he is learning to walk with an artificial leg. His medical category does not entitle him to the full benefits which he requires due to his condition so the Dror Foundation distributed $1,687 to assist him complete the recognition process and to get his category accurately classified.
