As part of Gaza’s “Cast Lead” Operation, Ben sustained a serious brain injury, his right hand was blown off and he had extreme blood loss. 

The Ministry of Defense built a specialized living space next to Ben’s family home and the Dror Foundation provided $12,000 to purchase equipment not covered by the MOD, such as a hydrotherapy pool, a wheelchair ramp and other furnishings.
